Having close ties to local agriculture—as well as not being oblivious to things like “science” and “the news”—we’re keenly aware of the impacts of climate change on our farming community. We’re serious about our responsibility to minimize environmental impact, and as one measure of our success, we’ve reduced our trash to about one five-gallon bag per two weeks. Not bad for a commercial kitchen!

Here’s how we make that happen:

  • our pop wrappers are compostable, as are our sticks and labels
  • our cardboard wholesale cases are made from recycled paper
  • all of our food waste (primarily fruit rinds, cores, and pits) is composted
  • any container we receive from a farm, we return to the farm for their reuse
  • naturally, we recycle all metal and cardboard, and plastics when possible
